The condition in Manipur right now is very much in a state of learned helplessness. It seems like the people has learned to remain silent aginst inhumane conditions. It is as if like broiler chickens who is sitting in a cage in a chicken shop, who sees fellow chicken being culled and who knows that his turn will surely come but does nothing to prevent the fate. That is because they have learned to be helpless and they seem to know that everything they try to escape the fate will be useless, that is why they have given up the hope of fighting and learned to enjoy the remaining short life.
The condition of the broiler chicken seems to be applicable to the people of Manipur of right now. They eat happily when they are fed, and when some times the owrner forget to feed them they fight over the remaining stock, they dont mind taking away their fellow chicken and dosent care where has it been taken because they are getting their share of food and enjoying the life. This kind of life is possible for chickens who has a brain size of a pea and they are no match for humans who own them, but it is pathetic to see humans in that condition. One may seem the statement made above to be over emphesizing or gross, but if we analize the condition we are living very carefully, you will not find it to be wrong.
There is no particular person, or party, or organizstion to be blamed for the condition but ourselves. We have created a system in which we have become ourselves the victim.
Let us analize a few topics say for example CORRUPTION - there is a rally going on for recruiting police officers of the ranks of ASI and SI, everybody knows the price of respective posts, it is a huge amount one can recover from thier respective pays only in a period of ten to fifteen years, everybody knows which MLA or minister got how many quotas and whome to approch for best chance, it is an open bid, and the highest bidder gets the costly pie they are eager of buying. So, in this race elegible people who could not afford to bid does not have a chance. NOW THE CORRESPONDING ASSUMPTIONS- the candidates who have been selected for the post will never be reluctant to corruption, they will try to recover the money they had spent to buy the post they have, so the chain of corruption started in buying the post extends to crime fighting, it dose not apply to every officers but there has been so many cases of police officers caught involving in extortion, arms and ammo deals with undergrounds, private agreement with UGs, drug traffikings, etc. This has led to a condition of being a spawning ground for illegal activities, name anything you will find it. All the people from top to bottom seems to be involved in the system and none is complaining, people happily buy Rs.120/lt of petrol, even police jeeps are found filling petrol on that rate from hoarders.
